Healthcare Security Services of CA Begins Contract

Oakland, CA. - Alameda County Medical Center (ACMC) has entered into an expanded agreement with Healthcare Security Services of California, Inc. (HSS) to provide security officers and security support services at Highland Hospital. HSS has provided security at ACMC's John George Psychiatric Pavilion and Fairmont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation facility since April, 2008. The new contract becomes effective, September 1st.
Healthcare Security Services is the nation's largest and foremost provider of full-service security programs. For more than 35 years HSS has worked closely with healthcare organizations to create, expand, and refine comprehensive healthcare security plans and programs. Dean Sobcoviak, Vice President of HSS said, "The security program will continue to provide a high level of service and protection which Alameda County Medical Center employees have come to expect. HSS will add new levels of officer professionalism through our nationally recognized training programs and customer service excellence initiatives."
The Alameda County Sheriff will continue to provide law enforcement at Highland while HSS will employ all of the security uniformed officers and supervisors at ACMC, and provide a variety of value added functions such as a comprehensive training program, general risk and vulnerability assessments, electronic security measures, policy and procedure reviews and Joint Commission compliance support to security sensitive areas. "HSS has a proven track record working with Health Systems. They will work with us to avert problems and make sure that our patients, visitors, customers, and staff enjoy a safe, healing and comfortable environment, "said Bill Manns, ACMC Chief Operating Officer.
